About the Artist:

Henri Matisse (1869–1954) is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, alongside Pablo Picasso. As a pioneer of the Fauvist movement, he explored the power of color to express emotion and meaning. Later in his career, when illness prevented him from painting, Matisse developed a new technique known as the cut-out. Using scissors, he carved fluid, organic shapes from sheets of brightly painted paper, composing a fresh and dynamic visual language that continues to captivate audiences today.

Blue Nude II is part of a series of cut-out nudes that reflect Matisse’s lifelong fascination with the human form. The flowing, abstracted figure echoes the poses from his earlier paintings, such as "Le Bonheur de Vivre", but with a newfound simplicity and freedom. His cut-out works, often monumental in scale, became the final and most celebrated chapter of his artistic legacy, pushing the boundaries of painting, sculpture, and design.

Frames
The frames are crafted from durable pine wood and come in four colors: Black, White, Pine, and Walnut. They are 20-25mm (0.79"-0.98") thick and 10-14mm (0.4"-0.6") wide, offering the perfect balance of durability and style.

Protection
Shatterproof Plexiglass. We chose acrylic over regular glass due to its transparency, lower weight, and strength. It is a lightweight, shatter-resistant alternative, providing up to 20 times the impact resistance at half the weight, ensuring the poster remains in excellent condition many years to come.

Framed Prints and Assembly
Framed prints are shipped as a separate frame and print within the same package, requiring assembly by the customer.
